Hasina's downfall as the army refused to quell the protests

The army chief has not yet publicly publicized the issue of withdrawal of support from Hasina.

Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, before leaving the country, was informed by the army chief in a meeting with his generals that soldiers would not fire on civilians to maintain the curfew.

Reuters reported this information today, Wednesday, citing two members of the Bangladesh Army.

After the meeting, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman communicated with Hasina's office, stating that soldiers could not force civilians to comply with the "lockdown" or curfew. This information was reported by Reuters, citing an Indian official who had been briefed on the matter.

The Indian official said that the message was quite clear: Sheikh Hasina had lost the support of the army.

These details of the online meeting of top military leaders and the message conveyed to Hasina had not been disclosed before.

The information confirmed that Hasina's 3 -year rule ended on Monday because of the loss of army support.

At least five people were killed and thousands of people were injured in widespread clashes and violence across the country on Sunday. This was the highest number of casualties in one day after the student movement started in July.

Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Sami Ud Daula Chowdhury confirmed the meeting on Sunday evening to Reuters. He said it was a regular meeting of the army to review the overall situation in the country.

However, he did not answer any questions about the decision taken at the meeting.

Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister on Monday in the face of mass protests.

Reuters spoke to those people who knew about last week's events. Among them are four army officers and two other sources. Some of the unknown information has been revealed at the end of Hasina's rule from their statement. Many of the sources spoke on condition of anonymity in the sensitivity of the matter.

The army chief has not yet publicly publicized the issue of withdrawal of support from Hasina.

However, three former senior senior officials of the army told Reuters that the spontaneous spontaneity of the protest and the death of at least 20 people (according to Reuters's calculations) made the issue of 'continuing to' Sheikh Hasina's support 'at any cost.

Brigadier General (Retd) M. "There was a lot of discomfort among the soldiers," Shakhawat Hossain told Reuters. This is why they probably put pressure on the army chief. The soldiers were on the way. They saw what's going on. '

The army chief spoke to thousands of soldiers at the Town Hall building on Saturday. The army later said that the army chief's statement indicated that Hasina's support was withdrawn.

Some information in this meeting was later released.

The army spokesman, according to the army chief, Walker-Uz-Jaman, said at the meeting that he announced that the lives of the people should be protected. The soldiers have to be patient.

For the first time in this meeting, it was found that the Bangladesh Army will not suppress the protests through force. As a result, Sheikh Hasina fell into a bit of a bit of unbearable situation.

Brigadier General (Retd) Mohammad Shahedul Anam Khan came down the curfew on Monday.

"The troops did not interrupt us," he said. The army has obeyed the promise. '

Shahedul Anam Khan said, "My personal opinion is that he (Hasina) should not allow him to go safely. It has been foolish. '
